NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory California Institute of Technology Pasadena, CA. Mechanical Engineer of the NASA Advanced Space, Luis was born in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico where he studied until high school before moving to the U.S. to finish his studies in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University (BYU).

 

Worked for various companies such as EDS, Siemens, TRW Aeronautical Systems before collaborating for NASA. NASA’s JPL, located in Pasadena California, is his current employer where he serves as a consultant and engineer for program development and implementation of advanced simulation of Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Engineering (CAD / CAM / CAE) aerospace technology and earth science.

 

He has participated in recent projects such as Phoenix (Planet Mars Lander – North Pole / 2009), MSL (Mars Pathfinder Lab / 2011) and other space vehicles and research tools of the Cosmos and the Earth.

 

Other areas of experience at JPL and Caltech among others are: Renewable Energy Technologies, Climate Change, Environmental Engineering and Remote Control.
