Part of the values that the United States and Mexico share is our border and a huge range of trade opportunities. This flow has grown dramatically since 1994, the year when the NAFTA took effect. This committee’s goal is not only bilateral trade but we view beyond oceans and borders, where business opportunities present themselves in the benefit of Mexican and Orange County economies.
Orange County has a long tradition importing materials and products from Mexico. Similarly, it exports industrial products and with an enviable geographic location lets you get closer to markets beyond the Pacific Ocean. Mexico, especially Baja California, should take advantage of its proximity to California, the eighth world economic power. Orange County is one of the five largest in the country and is only one hour from the border.
The work of this committee is to advance the strategic exchange of goods and services, particularly with a view to create prosperity in Mexico through the development of high-tech businesses to enhance the future of Mexico and Mexicans here and there. The committee’s chairman is Francisco Barragan, with extensive experience in industrial businesses in Orange County and multiple connections with educational institutions and young entrepreneurs, areas where he will develop its core business.
